Smaller Arcoaireâ R-410A Split-system
Outdoor Units Make Tight Installations Easy

LEWISBURG, Tenn., Feb. 27, 2009 – Tight installations pose fewer problems for the new smaller and lighter Arcoaire® R-410A split-system air-conditioner and heat pump outdoor units than they might for some other units. Now among the smallest available, the 2.5-ton Arcoaire unit previously measuring 21 cubic feet now measures only 9.2 cubic feet!

The government-mandated transition to 13 SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) resulted in a size increase for condensers across the entire HVAC market in 2006. In response to customer surveys conducted by Arcoaire manufacturer International Comfort Products (ICP), dealers asked for smaller outdoor units that will fit applications with limited available footprint space and can fit through narrow gates and doorways.

To meet these dealer requests, ICP designed smaller and lighter units that don’t sacrifice contractor-friendly installation features, reliable performance and strong warranties. In fact, the shorter and smaller new design of these units makes small-space installation easier.

The redesigned split-system air conditioners and heat pumps feature a smaller base pan – resulting in reduced freight costs, reduced warehouse space, easier handling, increased installation flexibility and a lower profile. But they still offer a number of outstanding features that make them tougher, quieter, easier to install and service, and easier to sell. For example:

Tougher

· Post-painted fin coils and baked-on powder coat chassis panels provide a corrosive-resistant finish.

· Rigid fin design makes fins less susceptible to damage than previous models.

· Large filter driers are shipped with every unit.

· High- and low-pressure switches help protect the refrigeration system.

Quieter

· An air-management system with increased fan propeller diameters improves air distribution without increasing sound.

· Two-speed fan motors, sound jackets and a sound-reducing fan orifice help achieve quiet operation.

· Tight wire coil guards with narrow guard spacing offer maximum protection with optimal airflow.

· Scroll compressors are standard on Arcoaire air conditioners or heat pumps.

Easy to Install and Service

· Comfort Alert troubleshooting LED fault indicators help technicians diagnose most system-related malfunctions.*

· A pre-punched panel in the control box for control accessory attachment.

Warranties on Arcoaire split-system air conditioners and heat pumps are among the strongest available, offering up to 10 years of limited warranty coverage on parts, including compressors and coils, and up to 10 years of No Hassle Replacement™ limited warranty coverage. The No Hassle Replacement™ limited warranty provides a new equivalent replacement unit should the compressor or covered coil fail during the No-Hassle period (with a labor allowance for the dealer). Restrictions apply. Action may be required. Contact your local Arcoaire distributor for details.
